Body Hot Pilates, a Miami-based infrared-heated mat Pilates studio, plans to open its first location outside South Florida at Sarasota's University Town Center West District on Saturday, as first reported by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Located at 315 N. Cattlemen Road, Suite 200, the space sits between New Balance and Foxtail Coffee, replacing the former Row House rowing studio.

Sarasota marks the brand's third location.

How a soccer injury sparked a fitness brand

Founder Lyndsey Meade, a South Florida native and former collegiate soccer player, built the concept after a career-ending concussion and neck injury led her to Pilates. She took her first hot Pilates class in Australia in 2014 and launched Body in February 2025 with three co-founders. The company, which also operates in Aventura, hit seven-figure revenue within five months and opened a second studio in Coral Gables in January 2026, according to the Miami Herald.

"Sarasota immediately stood out to us because there's so much growth happening, especially around Lakewood Ranch and UTC, and you can feel that people are looking for the same level of fitness and wellness experiences they'd expect in larger cities," Meade told the Herald-Tribune.

Inside Body's infrared classes

Each 50-minute class takes place in a room warmed to between 95 and 99 degrees by infrared technology. Four formats are offered: a signature full-body session, a sculpt class with added resistance, a high-intensity interval training, or HIIT, Pilates option and targeted workouts such as Arms & Abs and Abs & Buns.

No reformer machines are used. Classes are offered daily, generally from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The interior features an open floor plan with double mirror walls. The lobby includes lockers, two restrooms, a water fountain and a retail area. There are no showers.

Certified instructors and New York expansion plans

Every Body instructor completes a 100-hour certification program, and class sizes stay small to allow for individual corrections, a June 2026 profile by Markets of Tomorrow noted.

Body plans to expand to New York City later this year, according to the Herald-Tribune. The Saturday opening date is tentative and may shift.
