Sarasota audiences have two chances to find Halloween thrills onstage this weekend: “Dracula” at The Players Studio and “The Vampire Circus” at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.

“Dracula” at The Players Studio

The adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel runs through Sunday, Oct. 25, at The Players Studio Black Box, 1400 Boulevard of the Arts, Suite 200.

Ren Pearson adapted and directed the production, which includes stage combat and theatrical blood, ABC7 reported. The script previously was performed as a radio play before this staging.

Tickets are listed at $30, or $15 for students, according to Your Observer’s Halloween theater guide. Check The Players for performance times and remaining seats.

“The Vampire Circus” at Van Wezel

The 90-minute production begins at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at 777 N. Tamiami Trail. Doors open one hour before showtime, according to the venue’s event page.

The show combines acrobatics, dance, comedy and illusion around a traveling circus in 19th-century Bohemia, with Count Dracula hiding sinister plans behind the spectacle.

Van Wezel lists tickets from $41 to $81, including applicable fees and taxes. Prices are subject to change.
