U.S. Bank is entering Florida's business banking market for the first time, naming Sarasota-based Ehren McGeehan to lead the statewide push targeting companies with $2.5 million to $50 million in annual revenue.
U.S. Bank named Sarasota-based banker Ehren McGeehan to lead its first business banking team in Florida.
The Minneapolis-based bank appointed McGeehan, who has more than 25 years of banking experience, as business banking sales manager for the Florida expansion, the company announced Monday, Aug. 31. The new division will target businesses with annual sales between $2.5 million and $50 million.
McGeehan has already filled positions in Tampa and West Palm Beach. The bank plans to hire about 10 business bankers across Florida initially, according to theBusiness Observer.
The Tampa hires will work out of a new U.S. Bank wealth management office at 4050 W. Boy Scout Blvd., set to open this fall.
Florida is new territory for U.S. Bank's business banking arm. The bank already operates wealth management, mortgage and commercial banking offices in the state but had never stationed business bankers here. The move follows similar expansions last year into Charlotte, Chicago, Houston and Las Vegas.
U.S. Bank is also expanding its business banking presence in Georgia, Texas and Arizona.
Dee O'Dell, head of business banking sales at U.S. Bank, said in thecompany's announcementthat the expansion reflects strong demand from business owners seeking a banking partner with national reach and local expertise.
McGeehan previously served as a senior vice president and business banking sales manager at Bank OZK. "At Bank OZK, we believe small businesses deserve more than capital—they deserve partners," he said in February at a Pasco County economic development event, describing his approach to business lending.
According to its own press release, U.S. Bancorp, the bank's parent company, ranks 110th on the Fortune 500 and is the fifth-largest commercial bank in the country. Its business banking division now employs more than 1,300 bankers nationwide, with over 50 customer-facing positions added since the start of 2026.
The new Florida team will also include specialists in Small Business Administration (SBA) loans and payments. The nearest forward-looking milestone is the Tampa office opening this fall.
